Designing and building iOS and Android apps for a gamified rewards platform
The team at Spindy had a vision for a more engaging rewards app that would improve customer retention and engagement for businesses across the United States. Users would upload receipts from participating businesses and spin a wheel to win a cash-back reward.
The Spindy team approached CXR Agency with wireframes and a flow already defined. They needed to optimize their designs for both iOS and Android along with developing an engaging front-end for users.
While Spindy already had wireframes and user flows, they needed firm branding, and engaging app and some UI optimizations for iOS and Android’s divergent interfaces. They also needed to optimize come tricky UX flows, including the important loyalty redemption flow.
Our first goal was to uncover opportunities to refine the user experience in the existing wireframes. We worked closely with the Spindy team to improve the loyalty redemption flow and create the best possible user experience for the groundbreaking app.
The rewards wheel was the backbone of the app, so our engineers worked tirelessly to create an experience that would translate in both iOS and Android. We created numerous prototypes to ensure a consistent and premium experience for Spindy’s users.
The Spindy app has garnered praise from many users for it’s engaging design and experience. Since its launch, Spindy has partnered with companies like Carls Jr., Burger King and Taco Bell to provide innovative rewards programs for their customers. CXR Agency still supports Spindy to this day as it continues to expand nationwide.
