Augmenting client teams with additional staff to revamp a mobile application that enables users, hairstylists and barbershop owners to offer their services on one central platform.
The client, ShearShare, was hoping to develop a new version of their platform on which users can find hair salons and barbershops, and stylists and shop owners could rent out their services and spaces, respectively. The previous version of their mobile app wasn’t going to fit their plans for scaling and they lacked the internal resources to dedicate to building an entire new platform. They tapped our team at CXR Agency to execute their vision so they could continue expanding their enterprise and reshape the industry.

Because Apple doesn’t allow in-app payments to be conducted via Stripe, the CXR Agency team created a custom API for the payment gateway. This allows users to send and receive payments in the app while staying within the parameters of the app store guidelines.
The client had already designed the entire app, so our team was able to skip the design process and go straight to development – ironing out any issues along the way to ensure smooth operation and user experience.
To manage dynamic, core elements of the app such as stylist availability, store availability and payment confirmations, our team created custom APIs to ensure these operations could work seamlessly in the background.
After the first full launch, ShearShare saw a 70% increase in downloads month over month, as well as an increase of their download to registration rate from 60% to 80%. Customers have shared that they’re loving the new interface and premium in-app experience.
